An attorney assisted us (Me, Greg & Barbara Byes, James R. Byes, Shannon Zenner)with 
Guardianship and Conservatorship documents for our mother, Roberta Byes, beginning in 
July 2008 and served to my mother in mid-August. Another sister (Gretchen Byes) filed a 
dispute against the documents at the end of the 30 days,  which dragged on until a court 
appearance was scheduled for December 17 (2pm) in WA County. 

We did receive an email on the 16th of December from Karen that the dispute was withdrawn 
at the last minute by our sister. I am wondering if she (our attorney) perhaps didn't 
want to go to court and deceived us about the cancellation, since she has been 
non-communicative since that time. We have no idea if the attorney is sick, on vacation, 
out of the country, busy with other clients or personal problems, or she has taken our 
money and is just done with us.

We wish to move our mother to an assisted living center where she can be better cared for 
this weekend (January 10) but have not seen the documents.

Our attorney has not returned emails since at least early November and has not returned 
phone calls since October. The answering service takes messages and we never hear 
anything back.

Is it time to hire another lawyer ? Is there a way to get our documents without one ?
