I believe the lawyer in question did not follow the law. I am speaking of Jackson county counsel. Animal control took our dog off our property & stated it was "at large". That itself is against the law. The law is clear for dogs "AT large" being held by animal control. The keeper pays the fine, and you pick them up.

Understand our dog was NOT at large, we are a farm on open range, the law is crystal clear and states a dog can not be at large if it is protecting livestock, county counsel did not care. County counsel refused to release the dog to us unless we met their made up conditions. We met their conditions the first three times, none of these conditions were within the laws of the county or animal control guidelines. Our attorney was baffled as what to do, beings they were not following any laws.

Finally county counsel forced us, (blackmailed) to plead guilty to charges that they decided to drop, which were false, then pay a $500.00 bond fee, which is not a law, and then pay inflated fees for the illegal holding of our livestock guardian dog. Once we met their bogus conditions, which we did the next day, county counsel was supposed to release our bond fee back, they are refusing to do so because they say the documents which were faxed from the vet, by a DVM was falsified, so they are accusing us and our counsel of falsifying records instead of picking up the phone book, looking up the vet, which is listed on the fax by the way, with the phone number, and call that vet to confirm the record is true.

They are pushing this out farther and farther in hopes of bankrupting our farm! County counsel has been rude and very condescending to our attorney, and us. I feel that if our attorney was as baffled as what to do because county counsel was not following the laws, then I am taking it upon myself with out the knowledge of my attorney to file a complaint and see if there is any validity  to it. I am a hard working citizen who feels that I just got the biggest YANK around from the people that I help pay their salari
