that has been going on for some time. It is now three years since this
article, and the ALJ's are still acting up. My hearing in front of Judge Riley
Atkins was Feb. 2006 and during the hearing the vocational rehab expert hired by
Soc. Sec. testified that I am incapable of working 8 hours a day at any kind of
job, 5 days a week, etc.
With my other evidence and the corroboration of SS's own witness, I should be on
SSDI now, right? NO. Judge Atkins denied my claim. He claims in his decision
that I didn't prove anything and that "his" voc. rehab. witness testified
AGAINST me!
He never mentions the fact that the witness did no such thing; in other words, Riley Atkins buried evidence and manufactured testimony that never took place. Unfortunately, this has obviously been going on for a while, and when I called Congressman Earl Blumenauer's office to complain, I was told that there is an investigation currently in progress of the Portland Hearings and Appeals office and several of its judges. —Dan DePrezt
